Friends of the Ipswich Library Service (FOILS)What are Friends?
Friends of Ipswich Library Service (FOILS) was formed in October 2000. The patron is Ipswich born, influential poet and novelist, Thomas Shapcott. The group currently has around 25 members and would love to see some new faces.
Friends provide community based support for the Library. They assist with Library projects and events and organise their own events and activities that promote the library and enrich the cultural life of the community, such as exhibitions, guest speakers, and trivia nights. Initiatives of Friends of Ipswich Library include a regular program of guest speakers who share their experience and knowledge on a variety of interesting topics, followed by lunch in the Library Courtyard.
